We did a self guided trip arranged by On Foot holidays, from the Basque Pyrenees to San Sebastian in Spain. We had never done one before and really enjoyed the experience. The scenery was beautiful, often spectacular and we loved the walking on to another lovely village each day before arriving at the coast at the end of the week. Altogether a wonderful holiday.

On Foot were exceptionally well organised and efficient. Every question we asked in advance was answered promptly and fully. Their guide in Spain was available to us to contact each day which was especially useful in the evenings when thinking about any changes we might make to the next day's itinerary. We felt fully supported and really enjoyed the experience of holidaying with them.

The three of us started off in Bilbao, then we’re transported by cab to Elizondo. We started our walking from there, walking something like 15 km/day. We had great experiences walking and in the hotels and towns we stayed in.

Aznar was almost like a fourth member of our group. Though we never met face to face we checked in with each other regularly.

Our second walk with On Foot Holidays and it did not disappoint. Just beautiful country, so green and expansive. It is a total escape from city life, noise, and people. So many free range cattle - cows, sheep, horses, and donkeys. A bit taxing on the old legs but very rewarding dinners.

As the first time, they were responsive and thorough in answering questions and providing daily trail and weather updates.

Our walk through the Basque Pyrenees to Donostia-San Sebastian was everything we could have hoped for: gorgeous scenery, fine accommodations, and the chance to experience Basque and Spanish cultures in a relaxed, natural way. Every day was an immersive adventure, and we strongly recommend it to our fellow walkers.

This was our third walk with On Foot Holidays, so we knew what to expect: professionalism, attention to detail, and confidence that everything would unfold as planned. Working with On Foot — choosing a route, scheduling, personalizing our itinerary, and support while on the ground — is a genuine pleasure. We look forward to future walks with them.

An opportunity to hike in and enjoy the scenery of the beautiful and tranquil Basque countryside, encountering helpful locals on the way; an amazing adventure for the three of us: my brother, my son and me!

Great logistics, outstanding attention to detail, constant communication and help when needed

We spent five fabulous days in October walking from Elizondo in The Basque Pyrenees to the coastal city of San Sebastian, and wish we had signed on for the longer walk! We particularly loved the walking in the Basque hills. The landscape and villages here are beautiful and the walking routes quiet and peaceful. We loved staying in the different hotels and pensions and trying the local food and drink. We spent an extra night in San Sebastian at the end of the walk to enjoy pintxos and city life.

This is the second holiday we have booked with On Foot Holidays and we have nothing but praise for them. Everything was seamlessly organised, from sorting out our itinerary (including a rest day in the middle), to helping me understand the GPS app. The maps and route notes are great and together with the GPS, route finding was no problem. Our local contact for the walk, Aznar, was excellent, checking in with us regularly and we are so pleased we took his advice to bag a small peak on one of the days!

7 days walking through the foothills of the Pyrenees, with full route information. All accommodation and luggage transfer booked. Friendly people and excellent accommodation. A local contact available to help with any and every query.

7 days of walking from Zigo to San Sebastián with fabulous scenery, lovely accommodations. We had some rain but at least some sun most days. Routes were well described, challenging but satisfying.

On Foot is very responsive to all inquiries and needs. All accommodations and connections made without difficulty. Routes were described well with GPS to help with small details.
