Amazing sea kayaking trip in Torridon

I really rate Wilderness Scotland. Incredibly competent guide who helped us feel we were in safe hands and also encouraged us to engage in the wild and beautiful Scottish landscapes. Came away with a lot. Ore confidence in kayaking and more than anything a love of Scotland. What a breathtaking part of the world!

Professional guides made me feel confident and relaxed doing a new activity for the first time.

Kayaking in the North of Scotland was peaceful and the instruction was done in such a way that the whole group got up to speed quickly and we were able to progress quickly. Logistics from the transporting of Kayaks to food, picnics and more was done efficiently and meant we could have maximum time to enjoy what we were there to do.

Torridon kayaking with Wilderness Scotland- a fabulous experience

Beginners’ trip was educational, safe, fun and gave confidence to all participants as we were so well taught about safety procedures, flora and fauna, tides, winds and teamwork. The weather and scenery were glorious.

Cruising the lochs with great bonnie lassies

We had a great group of 8 over 55 women. At 70, I was the most experienced kayaker - but not at sea. Others had never even been in one. We started off slow, then as we learned, went further out into or beyond the loch and practiced our new skills. Our guides were the best ever and I'd probably go anywhere with them. Others in the UK or Scotland will keep in touch - I being the only one from the USA am not quite so lucky! The scenery was magnificent, whether on the water, driving in the van, or looking out from the restaurant window. I'd improve a little on the Scottish food but I won't go into that here! I now know how to turn my boat faster and would love to have a kayak like those we used in addition to the touring one I have.

Stewart was knowledgeable, attentive to each and every last one of us, picked up if we might need some help or advice, towed us if we were too tired or having trouble with a skeg. He led us in a group chat each evening about what we liked during the day, what we found most challenging, and what we looked forward to improving on the next day. Emy his assistant was ever present as well, taking scads of wonderful pictures that we were not able to take the time to take and bringing up the rear or cooking eggs for us in the morning. Both were totally approachable and were in tune with our needs visually and emotionally. Just plain nice people as well. We laughed a lot.

Fantastic introduction to Sea Kayaking in the inspiring landscape of the Highlands of Scotland

Wilderness Scotland - Introduction to Sea Kayaking course 5 day course based in Loch Torridon, including paddling in Loch Maree; Loch Kishorn. An excellent course which stretched me out of my comfort zone and increased my paddling confidence and skills, in an awe inspiring location and letting me see wildlife in its natural habitat (Dolphins, seals etc)

They are well organised, with a high calibre of guides who really made the trip for the group, combining great paddling knowledge with extensive knowledge of the flora and fauna and an ability to read the mood of the group altering locations and level of challenge in light of the paddling conditions. The arrangements for food and accomodation worked really well. I finished the trip with a new set of friends who are already booking our next paddling adventure.

Beginners Sea Kayaking, Torridon,, Scotland

Just the most fun I have had in ages. We were very fortunate that Craig and Lucy, our Wilderness Scotland guides, were obviously highly experience professional coaches and leaders. Our confidence in them meant we could all relax and enjoy each others company knowing we were in safe hands. All of us laughed a lot, learned a lot about sea kayaking, enjoyed each other company and formed lasting friendships.
