Athens and Thessaloniki are two top city breaks, mountainous interiors offer tremendous hikes – even skiing, and Greece’s glorious history ensures there are impressive ancient sites all over, including Delphi, Mycenae and Olympia.
I still remember my amazement when confronted with a fresco of Hades abducting Persephone in the tombs of the Macedonian Kings in Vergina. For here was a chariot that was depicted with modern perspective, a technique that wouldn’t take off in Western Art until it was ‘invented’ by Italian masters in the Renaissance. At the end of October all our yachts are returned to Corfu ready for our special Half Term Paxos and Corfu flotilla.
During the winter, our yachts are 'winterised' in Gouvia Marina, Corfu, where they receive comprehensive maintenance and cosmetic attention. At the end of April all the yachts are sailed to their summer bases and these trips are known as ‘delivery’ or ‘shakedown’ cruises.
