I had the great pleasure of sailing along the Dalmatian Coast on Peter Sommer Travels’ "Gastronomic Gulet Cruise in Croatia." The tour was superb, led by a brilliant and kind guide supported by an accomplished, professional crew. We visited some wonderful vineyards and olive oil farms, as well as historic sites. Our meals, on and off the boat, were invariably fine; the boat was exceptionally comfortable; the terrain (and "terroir") was beautiful. It was a memorable experience.

Mislav was an amazing tour guide! He went above and beyond to share his knowledge and love of Croatia. He was a walking encyclopedia and engaged and entertained us with Croatia’s history! He was fun and involved and communicated well with crew, hosts and guests. We thoroughly enjoyed him!

We spent a week exploring the Dalmation coast between Dubrovnik and Split on a Turkish gulet enjoying a gastronomic tour. We were served gourmet food on board and loved exploring a few of the many islands where we learnt a lot about the history and culture of the region as well discovering delightful old towns, tasting wines and eating delicious lunches some of which we helped prepare.

We were nothing but impressed by Peter Sommer Travels. They are a very professional company who are well organised, personal and also very responsive to any queries.

We loved the entire trip. The gulet and crew, the shore visits to farms and wineries and restaurants and the salt pans and the cooking school and swimming off the boat morning and evening, and most especially our guide Mislav.

Competent, cheerful, extremely well informed, adaptable, knowledgeable, personable - I would love to do another cruise under his guidance.

We had explored Trieste, Slovenia and much of Croatia before embarking on our week's holiday at Slano. We were blessed with excellent weather and fellow travellers we found sympathetic. Our crew were attentive, professional and the catering was first class - they did everything to make our cruise enjoyable. Lots of opportunities to swim from the gulet and our gastronomic excursions were both educational and delicious.

We came across Peter Sommer when we were looking to explore the Lycian coast and have found his tour very well thought through, which led us to tour Northern Greece and Macedonia with his company - another huge success. He helped us find guides for add ons to our Croatian trip - in Athens and this year a substantial top and tail to our organised tour through Robert Bralic's Ventula Travel - both excellent references which worked beautifully

The gulet cruise was phenomenal and I will go on one again! The crew and tour operator were the best! I learned so much from the inland tours and the interaction with other guests of the cruise. One highlight was visiting an oyster harvesting operation on a floating barge. Now I understand why oysters are so expensive and will love them even more!

Mislav was very personable and knowledgeable. His background and passion for archeology was infectious!

My wife, Lisa, and I love to eat, drink and travel. She came across your Gastronomic Gulet Cruise in Croatia, and having experience a wonderful trip on a small boat in the Galapagos, I thought this was a splendid idea. We, well really she, drew up an itinerary that included a couple of days in Dubrovnik then boarding your cruise on the 16th of September. On arriving and meeting our guide Mislav, we were informed that there was a change in the boat we’d be sailing. I thought, “Uh oh!”. Is this possibly a dark cloud. The answer was an outstanding NO! Not only was the boat in great shape, but the crew did their job seamlessly and efficiently. (I am sure that Capitan Luka saved us from a few rocky, as in the boat rocking, nights.) Just a small aside. The other travelers were a very interesting small group of people. They all shared our interests and we really enjoyed their company. It was a small group, just nine of us, but we were certainly wined, dined, and toured in pleasant company Everything on the trip was perfect...a word not strong enough as a measure. Mislav was a fountain of information, all the hosts and proprietors were informative and well spoken, and transportations connections were well timed, the classes were fun and educational, and. of course, Croatia and the Adriatic are magnificent! Thanks for our WONDERFUL trip! We’ll be looking for other Peter Sommer trips in the future. We recommend Peter and his associates for your travel.

Peter Sommer Travels' Gastronomic Gulet Cruise in Croatia far exceed the expectations my husband and I had in every way. Every stop on the itinerary was exceptional and carried our seamlessly; and these stops were balanced with plenty of time to relax onboard the gulet for swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic. The tour guide -- an archeologist by training -- was not only extremely knowledgeable but also one of the nicest people I've ever met; and every member of the crew was skilled, helpful, and caring. The chef fed us with delicious and healthful food, and made adjustments for a few travelers who had special dietary needs. An altogether unforgettable trip.

We spent a week sailing from Split to Dubrovnik on a small sailing vessel - 12 guests max - stopping each day at one of the islands to experience their unique food and wine. The wine of these islands are often only grown there and were excellent. The restaurants were family owned and the meals 5 course- the food was local, wonderful and unique. Each day the tour was delightful and varied. The first day we experienced a cooking class in Split. We bought, prepared and ate our meal. A wonderful way to meet the other guests.
