Rating for tour operator:Very responsive, lots of help and patience in pulling the trip together, and generally excellent selection of hotels. Their connection with local tour companies pays off in producing a tailored package that works seamlessly end to end.
A wonderful adventure which we enjoyed with a very nice group, all of us led by an excellent guide.
It was a tour of Chile starting from Santiago and visiting San Pedro de Atacama, Llanquihue in the Lake District and Las Torres del Paine in Patagonia, with many interesting places in between.

Amazing extremes!
Extremes of Chile took us from the dry, vastness of the Atacama desert through the beauty of the volcanic lakes to the unearthly blueness of the Grey glacier in Patagonia. It was amazing.

Rating for tour operator:JLA organised a fabulous trip. All the drivers and guides were great and our tour leader was exceptional. It is a very busy schedule but even long bus journeys can be interesting with a knowledgeable guide.
The most wonderful well organised holiday in a beautiful country
After a warm friendly welcome from Carla Ottone, we had a tour of Santiago and the next day the tour of Valparaiso and winery, a gentle start to the holiday. The Atacama Desert and all we did in those few days was just wonderful. The boat trip on Lake Todos and the visit to the Petrohue Falls was quite stunning. I enjoyed the day on Chiloe ,well worth doing, the boat trip and seeing the penguins and the curanto meal was a really special experience. The Parque National Torres Del Paine was amazing , we were lucky with the weather, the boat trip on Glacier was enhanced by the rainbows and the amazing blue of the glaciers and small icebergs. On our free day some of us did a 5 mile walk with Carla. It was sad saying goodbye to our new friends but we had the cruise on Skorpios 111 to look forward to and that didn’t disappoint. The size of the cabin was reasonable, the Crewe friendly and seaman like. The excursions to walk on the glaciers or to see waterfalls or wildlife meant that there was plenty to see and do. A great experience.
Rating for tour operator:All the arrangements for our 3 week holiday went smoothly. All the internal flights , all the taxi pick ups worked like clockwork. We had a particularly good local guide in Santiago and the Atacama, Juan. Our general guide was Carla Ottone who was absolutely superb, the best guide I have ever encountered. She was so friendly, conscientious, efficient, nothing was too much trouble. She often went far beyond the call of duty to make sure everyone was happy and that the arrangements were all in place at each stage of the trip. She even made sure that on the internal flights that we were on the side of the plane that would give us a view of the impressive snow capped Andes.
Marvellous introduction to Latin America.

It was an amazing experience, visiting deserts, busy cities nd the wildness of Patagonia. We saw a variety of wildlife including penguins, flamingoes, guanacos and condors. There were only 6 of us on the tour with an amazing tour leader, who ensured everything ran smoothly as well as suggesting restaurants, organising excursions and giving us a lot of background information about the country.
Rating for tour operator:Journey Latin America specialises in South America and are experts on the area which is reflected in the holidays they organise. It was our first group tour but we were amazed how it took the pressure of us so we could just enjoy the holiday. There was free time built in so you had time to do things by yourself and could choose whether to eat as a group,or not . Our group leader was superb. To be thoroughly recommended.

Whirlwind trip around Chile!
Amazing holiday by Journey Latin America. We covered Santiago, Atacama Desert, Chilean Lake District and Torres del Paine in 2 weeks. Action packed but so interesting and brilliantly run. Added on a 3 night trip to Easter Island afterwards and that too was amazing. All hotels had amazing views and were of a high standard.

Thoughtful service and great adventures
Our third time with Journey Latin America and as ever the personal service, outstanding quality of guides and good organisation made for a wonderful, memorable trip. We stayed in some amazing places, ate at some classic restaurants but most of all saw some places that will stay with us for ever.

Chilean highlights
I did JLA's Penguin tour - 12 days travelling the length of this vast country. great sights, excellent accommodation and good food. Not an active trip and definitely suited to older customers. great guides - but the distances can make it all seem a bit compressed - leaves you wanting more.
