Finally, one of Phnom Penh’s two great markets; The Central Market, located in a distinctive domed Art Deco building or the sprawling Russian Market.

Day 3: Fly to Siem Reap. Sunset cruise at Angkor Thom

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, our guide and driver will be waiting to greet you and transfer you to your hotel.

Start your afternoon tour of the Angkor Temples with a visit to the 12th century Ta Prohm, one of the most popular attractions of Angkor as much of the jungle has not been cleared and it looks very much as most of the Angkor monuments would have appeared when European explorers first stumbled across them.

Discover Angkor Thom: The fortified city of Angkor Thom covers an area of 10 km. Enclosed by a wall and wide moats the city includes many of Angkor’s most popular sights. Enter by the monumental South Gate over a causeway lined on either side by statues of demons and gods each carrying a giant naga. Continue to the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper Kings, former spaces for public ceremonies both adorned with dramatic bas reliefs. Visit the ruined Baphuon, Royal Enclosure, and Phimeanakas before continuing to the mysterious Bayon Temple.

Take a relaxing cruise in a gondola paddle boat at the moat of Angkor Thom. Enjoy a spectacular sunset at Prasat Chroung temple accompanied by cocktails, champagne, canapés, and soft drinks.

Return to the hotel for a chance to freshen up.

We suggest dinner at Mahob, serving traditional Khmer cuisine using only the freshest local ingredients.Located in a cosy garden setting surrounded by trees, flowers and a lotus pond away from the hustle and bustle of Pub Street, MAHOB is set in a traditional wooden house just a few minutes from the centre of town, and five minutes from Angkor Wat.

Day 4: Angkor Wat

Start the day with the crowning jewel of Khmer architecture, Angkor Wat, the national symbol and the highlight of any visit to Cambodia. The largest, best preserved and most religiously significant of the Angkor temples, it impresses visitors both by its sheer scale and beautifully proportioned layout as well as the delicate artistry of its carvings. On the way, stop to enjoy the intricate stone carvings that adorn nearly every surface with some 1,700 Apsaras or celestial dancers, sculpted into the walls. Angkor Wat is stunning at any time of the day, but sunrise and sunset are especially beautiful times to watch the play of light on the stones.

This evening, enjoy a performance of Phare, the Cambodian Circus. Phare, The Cambodian Circus’ shows are inspired by the real-life experiences of its creators and performers and deal with themes such as war, discrimination, relationships, poverty and ghosts.

Return to Siem Reap for a little time to relax in the afternoon.

This evening, we suggest dinner at the Apsara Terrace (Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor) accompanied by a majestic performance of Cambodian dances and Khmer martial art.
