Cardamom Mountains Trails

Cardamom Mountains Trails Overview

Walk in the Cardamom Mountains, Cambodia, the most unspoiled wilderness remaining in mainland Southeast Asia.

Highlights of Cardamom Mountains

  • Travel by foot and by boat to explore the Cardamom Mountains
  • Discover diverse flora and fauna and spend time at the Wildlife Release Station
  • Experience village life in Chi Phat
  • Visit the architectural splendours of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom

We fly into Cambodia’s capital and former French colonial city, Phnom Penh, where we enjoy a full day’s sightseeing. Heading south west for the Cardamom Mountains, we follow walking trails that have only very recently been developed through the inviting forested landscape. We walk to a wildlife release station and spend time in the village of Chi Phat witnessing village life at first hand. The area is renowned for its biodiversity and we hope to see silver langurs, long-tailed macaques, greater hornbills and other forest creatures.

Moving north, via the floating village of Kompong Pluk we travel to Siem Reap and Angkor Wat. This astounding temple complex covers a vast area but rather than seeing the main attractions by tour bus, we have three days of thorough exploration on foot.
