Touring Northern Argentina

A superb two and a half weeks trip to Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, Salta, Purmamarca and Mendoza. A real contrast between the bustling city and the unspoilt landscapes of the north west, and then a few days enjoying Argentinian wine surrounded by the vineyards of Mendoza

Rating for tour operator:

Journey Latin America (JLA) pulled together an excellent itinerary based on our initial suggestions and was able to advise exactly what would be the best route and how long to spend in each location. The in country arrangements were excellent and the local guides and drivers were always on time, always helpful and took all the stress away from us. The true value of dealing with a professional operator was perfectly demonstrated when during our trip a general strike was called in Argentina which impacted our travel arrangements. JLA took care of everything and rebooked flights, accommodation and transfers so there were no issues for us to deal with. We would not hesitate to rebook with JLA again.

Gaucho Vintage Tour

The Gaucho tour from Santiago in Chile to Buenos Aires in Argentina packed in many new and amazing experiences. We flew over the Andes, explored Salta, a colonial town where in some respects time has stood still. We experienced the aura of Iguazu falls as we walked closely to its pounding waterfalls and in Buenos Aires we felt the magic of the tango . A bonus was visiting Eva Peron’s mausoleum on her birthday.. The wineries were fascinating ...

Journey Latin America are consummate professionals. On both occasions when visiting South America I have booked directly with them. I particularly respect their consideration for local customs and cultures.

Perfect trip to Argentina

First stop Buenos Aires, the to Iguazú falls, which exceeded expectations. Ibera wetlands were magical, including the stop at the Jesuit Mission. Then setting off from Salta on a self drive through the mountains.

Rating for tour operator:

Our tour was originally scheduled to take place in 2020 but had to be re-arranged more than once because of Covid and other issues. At all times JLA staff were unfailingly helpful, friendly and professional. Local guides and reps in Peru and Argentina were also excellent.

Argentina Experience arranged by Journey Latin America

We wanted to see as much as we could in Argentina in a relatively short time (2 weeks) and JLA made that possible for us.

Argentina Introduction

Limited to two weeks we were recommended to go to Buenos Aires, Bariloche and El Calafate which proved to be a great experience. We opted for additional free days in Buenos Aires as trying to cover the city in 2-3 days would have just scraped the surface. It was a great experience and we will be returning to explore the North of Argentina and Atacama in Chile as soon as time and funds permit!

Fantastic through all stages of the process from initial fact finding to planning and completion. It was great to be able to talk to a consultant that had actually been to where we wanted to go and could make personal recommendations.

Wonderful holiday in Argentina

We travelled across northern Argentina, visiting Buenos Aires, watching whales in Peninsula Valdes, a week-long road trip around Salta and finally the Iguazu falls for some amazing sights and also a few days of relaxation. It was a fantastic trip, although at times tiring.

JLA organised the trip extremely well. We were picked up at every location by professional guides, who also offered us many tours and day trips in various areas which were all amazing. I would not hesitate to go back to JLA for another trip!
