Places to broaden the mind.

We travelled through Patagonia and saw scenery and sites that we could not have imagined. The people and the variety made for an utterly memorable experience. It’s more than a holiday.

JLA made sure all that needed to happen did. And inevitable hiccups were sorted without fuss. Every location was of real interest and our dip into the Andes was fascinating.

Fabulous trip to Argentina

We spent three weeks in South America, travelling from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, through El Calafate, El Chalten and the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. We even managed a trip to Colonia in Uruguay. Sophie, our agent at JLA listened to our wishes and put together an excellent itinerary with just the right amount of time in each area. We even managed a trip to Colonia in Uruguay. Sophie, our agent at JLA listened to our wishes and put together an excellent itinerary with just the right amount of time in each area. Our plans we almost disrupted by an airline national strike however Sophie was able to sort everything on our behalf and we were able to enjoy our holiday without any worries. Accommodation was very good and transfers and internal travel arrangements went without a hitch. A wonderful holiday in a beautiful part of the world.

See above. Sophie Barbour was very responsive, offered us helpful advice and put together an excellent itinerary. She always responded quickly to any queries. both before and during our trip. I would recommend her to anyone.

Memorable tour of South America

Combining some of the best sights of Chile and Argentina using a mix of flights and (surprisingly comfortable) local busses.

JLA provided a group leader and local guides (most of whom were excellent) so that we could get the most out of our holiday. The accommodation was fairly basic but generally met our needs.

Extraordinary discovery of Chile.

The two-week holiday took in most of the main sights of Chile: the Atacama Desert, the Lake District, Chiloé Island, Patagonia and the Torres del Paine national park, Punta Arenas, Santiago and Valparaiso

Nandu Chile and Argentina Patagonia experience including some hiking

JLA provided a holiday with excellent organisation, reasonable hotels as mid priced holiday, an exceptional guide and amazing excursions. It was an excellent overview of Patagonia. I especially liked the 5 days when we were able to hike. The first hike in Huerquehue NP was optional so we paid 300USD among 4 of us. The guide was amazing and so informative. We all made the 700m ascent. The second walk at Torres del Paine was around the lakes - ...

We all made the 700m ascent. The second walk at Torres del Paine was around the lakes - stunningly beautiful. A guide took us around Mt Fitzroy. We did not ascend the 20 km walk but managed 14km around the base which was much flatter. The scenery is the most spectacular I have ever seen and lunch alongside a stream watching Mt Fitzroy topped it off. The geology is fascinating. All the guides were excellent for the variety of excursions that we made.

Well organised. Ready to listen. Informative. I especially like the app which has maps, flights, itinerary, weather etc

Unforgettable trip to Chile and Argentina, including Easter Island

We booked the Lapwing Tour, which had an excellent itinerary and also had a private extension to Easter Island. All arrangements went to plan, all guides were excellent, including the main Tour Guide.

All Encompassing Patagonia Tour

A three week comprehensive tour from Santiago Chile to Buenos Aires Argentina covering the two cities, Chilean Lake District, highlights of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. Excellent included and optional activities, fantastic diverse food and challenging but rewarding hikes with like minded people.

The optional choices on offer gave everyone a good choice depending on their level of fitness and wishes - rafting, climbing volcanoes, glacier walking. The level of knowledge of the local guides was excellent and their passion shown through. The standard of hotels was good - all had comfy beds and good showers! We spent most of our money on food and wine - Patagonia has the best lamb, beef, seafood and fish. All washed down with Pisco Sours and wine.

Rating for tour operator:

Journey Latin America were easy and helpful to work with when planning our holiday. Sadly, we had to cancel our original booking but when we were ready to re book we gave them only 5 weeks notice. They worked very quickly and efficiently to ensure we could get on the last trip of the season - we couldn't have asked for more.
