Gorilla Trekking in Uganda

Gorilla Trekking in Uganda Overview

If you want to see the chimps and gorillas of Uganda and have just a week to spare, this is the holiday for you. You’ll see more too, as you go for forest walks, visit local villages and take game drives in a game rich national park.

This is an action-packed trip to see gorillas and chimps in Uganda.

On day one you’ll head off to the chimp sanctuary at Ngamba Island on Lake Victoria. Here orphaned chimps are cared for in a safe and secure environment.

You’ll travel on to Bwindi for your gorilla trek. The trek can last anything up to 5 hours and can be strenuous but it will be worth it! You’ll spend a magical hour with the group, observing then eat, play and interact. It’s an experience you’ll never forget.

On this trip we’ve included one gorilla trek and you have a free day for a second one (to be booked in advance) or to take a walk in the forest.

You then travel to Lake Mburo, a small national park and the only place in Uganda where you can see zebra. There’s time for a game drive and maybe a walk. The next morning you’ll set off to Entebbe, where you’ll be dropped off at the airport or your hotel, if you’ve booked an extra night here.
