Fly with the Birds
Extremadura bird watching was a truly uplifting experience. A good variety of different locations with expert, friendly and helpful tour leader ornithologists . The was my first birding holiday and I loved every moment . Our stay at Hotel Rural Vina lasTores, Trujillo was perfect. Naturtrek provided good helpful information relating to the holiday well in advance and were helpful on the telephone this company gives a personal touch, a rare thing these days.

Great birding holiday
Extremadura in central Spain offers wide-open spaces and is very rich in bird life, from azure-winged magpies and hoopoes to eagles, vultures and the impressive great bustard. We stayed in a small, friendly family-run hotel with a delightful garden, including orange and lemon trees laden with fruit. A nightingale sang outside the window in the early morning. There was a glorious view of the surrounding unspoilt countryside.

Naturetrek runs a variety of wildlife holidays. This was the first of theirs I'd been on, and I would certainly go with them again. The trip was very well organised. The group leaders were exceedingly knowledgeable and made sure everyone enjoyed the holiday.

Amazing
Go Slow in Extremadura was based at a friendly, family-run hotel near Trujillo, led by 2 very clued-up guys, one English, one Spanish. I logged over 20 new species and the number and variety of raptors was phenomenal - 15 species, with spectacular views of nesting Egyptian and griffon vultures and Spanish imperial eagle. We also had great views of roller, bee-eater, hoopoe, bustarts and many more (over 100 bird species in all). All this in ...

All this in warm Spanish sunshine, with a group of very friendly people, flower-covered steppes, a variety of butterflies, reptiles and mammals also "thrown in"..

Naturetrek were helpful and efficient from start to finish. I chose their offer of this kind of leisurely week's birding etc. hoping that it would fit my needs (80 year-old frame with two new hip joints!) It worked a treat.
