We were 11 members on this hike accompanied by 11 Peruvian stuff + 20 mules and horses!!! The guide Elias did excellent job. His English was fluent, had a very positive and encouraging character, created a very happy humoristic and good attitude between group members. Elias knowledge of Inca history and archeology was exceptional good and very interesting. Elias presented also his interesting and convincing thoughts about the INCA, knew also names of the plantation, flowers and their use for local medicine. Elias was careful to the individual pace of trip members, and during the treks he accompanied the slower ones as well those in the front. Elias took care of all our needs and to members safety was important to him. Elias created good mood atmosphere which was very important encouraging during high efforts climbing at high altitude of up to 4700 m. Additional to the guide Elias we had Ricardo as assistant guide, 5 horse man, waiter, Cheff and assistant cook as also dish man washer Felix who was in charge to have our plates and cooking ware clean and ready for the meals. The Cheff cook Lorenzo and Francisco cooked very tasty and delicious food: Excellent soups, main dish and deserts. The food was always fresh, clean and put on the plate in an artistic manner like in the best restaurants. Lorenzo and Francisco even baked a wonderful birthday cake as surprise to one of our group members that had birthday. Basilio the waiter ran for every of our wishes during the meals, always withe smile on his face, also waking us up in the cold mornings with a glass of worm tee "MATE DE COCA". The horse men were very efficient in preparing and folding our tents, always ready when we arrived to camping place, also carrying our DAFO bags with our personal belongings. I recommend to KE this excellent guide Elias and his outstanding stuff from Lima Tours (PERU) for all of your trips. They are very reliable and can be trusted to succeed in carrying out a fabulous trip. Was excellent very interesting and enjoyable trek. Recommended.

Trek to Machu Picchu, trek it, live it, love it!!!

Our trek to Machu Picchu via Choquequirao became more than a trek, a holiday but a totally encompassing experience. The staff looking after us must have the best families in the world because they treated us so well I could barely believe we were camping. The knowledge passed to everyone during the trip was delivered with such enthusiasm it would be impossible not to be impressed. From start to finish the experience was unbelievable, so good...

Incredible Choquequirao Adventure

I can't recommend this trek enough to others. Like other KE Adventure trips I've been on, this adventure took us off the beaten path and in front of future "progress." I'm always thrill to have the great honor of visiting locations where it seems few others tend to go and where crowds are no where in sight. We got to explore the great ruins of Choquequirao completely on our own and for as long as we liked. We got to explore the sites as through we were some of the first people to view the place, or so it felt. Along the way, we stopped in lovely local villages connecting with friendly locals and playing with their playful doggies and children. The days hiking were challenging making us work for the rewards and bonding us all as a group. I loved evenings camped out under a sky full of stars and yummy meals prepared in the middle of what seemed to be "no where" by excellent staff. This was an exceptional journey and one I recommend folks go on sooner rather than after it gains in popularity.

This is my second journey with KEAdventure and far from my last. Both trips had truly exceptional guides, the best support staff, fantastic itineraries, great hiking, and an emphasis on the well being of everyone involved. I can't wait for my next trip with KE in a month!!!

Choquequirao was magical and still tantalisingly undiscovered, and Machu Picchu was awe-inspiring! And in between were the magnificent Andes! The best of all combinations!

I chose the Choquequirao to Machu Picchu trek because I wanted to avoid crowds and at the same time do some challenging trekking. It fulfilled both expectations amply. We camped for 8 nights and each campsite seemed special - we camped in an orchard dripping with fruit, one campsite where the chickens had cottoned on that Peruvians always offered a splash of beer to Pacha Mama, Mother Earth, and so hung around tables drinking out of puddles ...

We camped for 8 nights and each campsite seemed special - we camped in an orchard dripping with fruit, one campsite where the chickens had cottoned on that Peruvians always offered a splash of beer to Pacha Mama, Mother Earth, and so hung around tables drinking out of puddles of beer, we even camped on Inca terraces and washed with cold water from Inca streams. The walking was sustained and challenging, but I finished each day with a sense of achievement. The guides and support crew were excellent and unfailing in their efforts to make the trip a success for us.

Rating for tour operator:

I have travelled several times with KE Adventure, and have always been very happy with their level of service and grading of the trips. The booking of the trip is easy, the joining arrangements are always clear, their local operators are solid outfits committed to providing a good service too, from the first pick up at the airport, to the final drop off, and I have never had a feeling that a better service could have been provided.

I have recently returned to the UK having enjoyed KE's 9 day Choquequirao to Machu Picchu Trek. Hard trekking but thoroughly enjoyable.

KE were very good at getting back to me with my pre holiday questions. While in Peru, the complex logistics for the trekking worked like clockwork.

Choquequirao to Machu Picchu. 10 days trekking.

Cannot say a bad word about this trip. Both KE and their ground agent in Peru Tambo Treks were fantastic. Nothing was left to chance. Everything ran super smooth and our guides Ruben and Kantu went far above and beyond the call of duty.

We booked through KE Adventure travel having used them previously for the Everest Base Camp trek. They produced the goods again without fault. Our ground agent Tambo Treks were also fantastic.
