Mexico, its archaeological and today’s culture

We spent two weeks on a private tour from Mexico City to the Yucatán with guides to give us detailed and very informative commentary on history, culture and archaeology staying in excellent hotels in many different towns.

Everything taken care of to a high standard

Journey Latin America organised a brilliant itinerary for us and took care of everything, all we had to do was go along and take advantage of the extra opportunities as we wanted. Perfect mix of activities and free time to explore on our own and keep our energy up.

Excellent support when putting trip together, in the execution and when things went wrong.

We wanted to study the Pre Hispanic civilisations and received an excellent overview in the time available. The expertise of the guides and their willingness to discuss ideas was a key element. often the guides came from an indigenous background so we had a broader insight than would otherwise have been the case. When our international flights home were disrupted JLA provided good support, so our holiday was not ruined.

Off the main track in Mexico

Coyoacan in Mexico City, a charming historic suburb, beautiful colonial Puebla, Coatepec in the cooler coffee growing area, handy for the magnificent museum in Xalapa and the charming and relatively undeveloped (though with the oustanding hotel Casa Que Canta) Pacific town of Zihuatanejo

JLA has first rate knowledge of and contacts in Latin America, and should be the tour operator of choice for that region

Mexico is amazing.

We spent three nights in Mexico City and Seven in Mérida. For a city of 25 million people Mexico City works remarkably well. So much to see and do. We had a guide for some of the time and I think that without her we'd have missed a lot. The size of the place is quite daunting and she took us to places we'd never have seen otherwise. Mérida was totally different - a colonial town, very laid back. Locals were extremely friendly and helpful...

Journey Latin America suggested we spend a couple of days by the beeach but we declined.
