Planet Holiday introduces eight lesser known islands for 2016
Greece continues to attract Brits as a holiday destination, as not only does it offer great value and fantastic weather but there are a multitude of different types of holidays available, including the ever popular Greek island hopping.

For those that have ventured to many of the larger islands, some of the lesser known smaller islands could be the ideal choice for 2016 and Greek AITO specialist Planet Holidays (www.planet-holidays.co.uk) has just made them easier to access by introducing eight of the lesser known islands to its programme.

Now featuring 20 Greek Islands the new islands for 2016 include Ithaca, the smallest of the Ionian Islands, Folegandros and Sifnos, which both belong to the Cyclades group of islands, Milos, Paros, Naxos, Skopelos and Alonissos. Other smaller islands featured include Amorgos, Spetses and Thassos.

Planet Holidays can tailor-make any combination of islands and will advise on the best routes and islands, ensuring a smooth and stress free island hopping experience.

Ithaca still remains unspoiled from the modern world and offers fantastic beaches, which are secluded and peaceful even in the height of the summer. Planet Holidays feature the 5-star Perantzada Hotel in the picturesque port of Vathy in Ithaca which is a 19th century mansion that has been transformed into a boutique hotel with just 19 rooms.

A two-week package combining Ithaca with Kefalonia and Zante starts from £2,517 per person including accommodation in 5 star hotels on bed and breakfast with transfers and return flights.

Another option is combining Skiathos with the newly added Skopelos and Alonissos. Skopelos was where the famous wedding procession scene in the film Mamma Mia was filmed. Planet Holidays have introduced three hotels on this island including the 4-star Prince Stafilo built in traditional Pelion architecture with a stone roof, close to the centre of Skopelos Town.

Alonissos is the third largest island, after Skiathos and Skopelos in the Northern Cyclades. With its rugged landscape, forests, olive groves and orchards as well as fantastic quiet beaches it’s the perfect place to unwind. The 4-star Alonissos Beach Hotel, 4.5km from the islands capital offer the ideal place to relax with its low rise bungalows located on a hillside overlooking the bay and the lovely beach of Chrisi Milia.

A two-week package combining Alonissos, Skiathos and Skopelos starts from £1,997.00 per person to include 5 and 4 star accommodation on bed and breakfast, flights and transfers for departures mid-May 2016.

Other island hopping options include combining Santorini and Amorgos, with Milos, Sifnos, Folegandros, Naxos and Paros for those that want to spend a few weeks exploring several islands.
