Coasts and Caves

Coasts and Caves Overview

The third largest island in the world, Borneo is lined with gorgeous coasts. It’s also home to one of the largest cave systems on earth. This tour has you walking, bicycling, snorkeling, and diving as you explore some of Borneo's beautiful coasts and breathtaking caves.

Start out in Kota Kinabalu with a day on the South China Sea before heading inland to walk through the incredible caves of Mulu. Return to the coast in Miri for a bit of diving and a visit to the archeologically important caves of Niah. As every trip to Borneo should include a chance to see orangutans and monkeys, we’ve included a visit to Bako National Park along the northwestern coast to look for proboscis monkeys and a trip to Semenggoh Nature Reserve, home to semi-wild orangutans who love to check in at feeding times. This is an active trip with long walks, mountain biking in the jungle, snorkeling, and diving.
