Hands On Japan

Hands On Japan Overview

This classic 14 night tour is practically overflowing with unforgettable hands-on experiences, from soba noodle-making classes to taiko drumming , pottery, cycling and canoeing. If you enjoy an action-packed holiday and learning about the culture and traditions of a country first-hand, this is the introduction to Japan that you need.

From your very first day in Tokyo, you’ll be immersed in wonderful cultural experiences with a lesson in taiko drumming and a chance to observe sumo wrestlers up close and personal. From here, you’ll travel to the beautiful alpine onsen town of Togari Nozawa, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional ryokan inn and have your next chance to get hands-on making your own delicious sushi lunch. Your journey continues to Matsumoto and Kyoto, where you’ll try your hand at pottery before spending an evening in the company of a geisha – a truly memorable and unique experience. In Kyoto, you’ll have the opportunity to stay in one of Japan’s iconic capsule hotels – yet another ‘only in Japan’ experience. Finally, you’ll travel to Takefu where you’ll have another chance to get creative with a crash-course in paper-making and soba noodle-making. Your trip will conclude in Tokyo.
