3 Week Whole Ionian Flotilla Overview
3 weeks exploring the Ionian Sea! If you have three weeks to spare in May, why not hop on this flotilla and sail more of the Ionian Islands than ever before!This route has been designed to venture to some of the less well-known village harbours of the Ionian Islands. Many of you may have already sailed our flagship Whole Ionian flotilla before - imagine the freedom of an extra week on top of this already amazing fortnight!
Your cruise will cast off from Plataria on the mainland and initially head North, visiting several atmospheric towns and villages including Venetian Corfu Town.
Over on the mainland, the flotilla may spend a night at anchor in the secluded Two Rock Bay, before heading south.
You may now start venturing further off the flotilla trail into the Gulf of Amvrakia. This is an inland sea and is the best area for wildlife spotting. The shallow waters create the perfect envirnment for huge pelicans, dolphins and turtles. Keep your eyes peeled!
The flotilla will travel through the Lefkas Canal into the South Ionian. Here you will island hop between Lefkas, Meganisi, Kefalonia, Ithaka, Kalamos and Kastos. Your lead crew will keep an eye on the local weather forecast and your itinerary will alter accordingly. You will essentially sail where the wind takes you!
On the way back North again you may spend a night in the quaint fishing village of Ligia. a rarely visited harbour, Ligia relies on its fishing community to survive, meaning that the restaurant in the harbour serves the freshest seafood! The long sandy beach is idea for a swim.
This flotilla is the perfect way to really relax into the flotilla way of life whilst visiting some new towns and villages along the way!
