Waterfalls & Swamps

Waterfalls & Swamps Overview

This Swamps & Waterfalls itinerary will have you staying first in Botswana and then moving on to Zambia, each with their own romantic charm.

The first part of your stay will be at a tented camp in the Joa Nature Reserve, located just outside of the Moremi Nature Reserve. The area is known for its large open flood plains, making this a picturesque setting for any romantic holiday. The area is also rich in wildlife and is one of the area where you may see the rare Sitatunga antelope and Spotted Neck Otter, with the drier regions being home to large lion populations, as well as a few leopard and hyena. You will spend your days here enjoying a variety of both water and land-based game activities, and perhaps even spend a romantic evening sleeping out under the stars!

From the Jao Nature Reserve you will move on to a luxury lodge situated in Livingstone. This is the ultimate lodge for honeymooners and romantic couples, offering private candlelit dinners on the Zambezi river, as well as sunrise and sunset boat cruises. Spend your days here doing as much or as little as you like. With excellent views from your river cottage, and a variety of activities including picnic lunches and tours of the Victoria Falls. Livingstone is a charming small town with a rich colonial history – those looking for a bit of an historical education should visit the Livingstone museum, and even take a tour of one of the local villages to gain an understanding of the daily lives of the people living in the area.
