Classic Botswana Safari including Moremi, Savuti and Chobe National Park
There are few wildlife experiences in the world like a week spent in the Botswanan wilderness. This classic itinerary offers a lodge and luxury camping combination safari. We begin in Maun and take a small plane into the centre of the African bush. Flying over the vast landscapes, scrub land and waterways, we can spot giraffe, elephant and the larger wildlife as we swoop into our tented camp in the Moremi Game Reserve, on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta. This is the jewel of Botswana, and we waste no time climbing aboard our 4WD and experience it ourselves, keeping a watch for those Big 5. Birdlife is also very prolific in this area. After 3 nights here we drive to Savuti Game Reserve, a part of the larger Chobe National Park. Here the open grasslands attracts herds of zebra and wildebeest, which in turn draws in the lion prides for which Savuti is deservedly famous for. We enjoy our wild mobile camp for 2 nights, a true adventure. Our last stop in Botswana is Chobe National Park, where we have a boat cruise along the Chobe River which is possibly the most satisfying and relaxing game viewing activity in Southern Africa. We spend a few hours floating slowly down stream whilst watching the wildlife come down to drink. These include herds of elephants, crocodile, hippo, fish eagle and much more! The grand finale to this holiday is the ultimate waterfall – Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. All in all this short classic, is one of the best and the ultimate Botswana safari holiday choice.
