Botswana Highlights Overview

This 10-Day Botswana Highlights itinerary will have you staying at some of the most luxurious safari lodges that Botswana has to offer – at an affordable price!

Your holiday will start off with a 3-night stay in a forties-style luxury tented camp overlooking Botswana’s Makgadikgadi Pan. The Makgadikgadi Pan is one of the largest salt pans in the world and is what remains of what was once Lake Makgadikgadi, a massive super lake that dried up a few thousand years ago! This unique environment makes from some stunning views from the campsite. This dry region attracts several animal species during the wet months, including wildebeest, zebra and lion, as well as a large variety of water and land bird species. Your days here will be spent enjoying game drives and guided nature walks, where you will learn about the amazing animals that reside in the harsh desert climate.

The next part of your Botswana Highlights holiday takes you to yet another of Botswana’s most sought-after luxury accommodations in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The Delta is one of the seven natural wonders of Africa and receives approximately 11 cubic kilometres of water per year from the annual floods. During the dry winter months, the delta is at its fullest and attracts a large variety of wildlife. In fact, it is known to be one of the areas with the highest concentrations of wildlife during this time, including elephant, buffalo, hippo, rhino and a wide variety of buck, as well as predators including lion, cheetah, leopard and the Nile crocodile and a large variety of birdlife.

The final leg of your Botswana Highlights holiday takes you to an intimate and luxurious tented camp situated on the private Selinda Reserve overlooking the crystal waters of Zibadianja Lagoon. The reserve is centred around the Selinda spillway which links the Okavango Delta with the famous Linyanti Swamps – it offers excellent game and bird viewing, but is situated in a remote location, away from the busier tourist areas. The campsite offers some spectacular views of the surrounding plains, as well as passing wildlife.
