peace and simplicity

Sun, sea, shady walks, exquisitely pretty island, friendly locals, and good food in local tavernas. The perfect getaway.

Planos understand the spirit of Greece. Their properties are charming and frequently traditional. The staff, whether on the ground or in the office, really know their stuff.

Get away from it Villa holiday

We booked a villa for 2 with a pool just outside Loggos, Paxos, through Planos Holidays. It was in a quiet & secluded location & just a short stroll from Loggos. It was a great place to explore the Island from with beaches within easy walking distance & buses to the other main villages & towns on the Island. We had days just reading by the pool, topping up our tans & days out on the beaches, snorkelling & sunbathing & we explored the island ...

Paxos is a small Greek island with no airport or high rise buildings and, consequently, no hordes of tourists. Paxos is a small Greek island with no airport or high rise buildings and, consequently, no hordes of tourists. Covered in olive groves, it is pleasing to the eye and pleasant for walking, despite its hilly nature. Most beautiful of all is the delightful village of Lakka with its large, almost enclosed, bay providing mooring for an ever changing succession of yachts - between 20 and 80 at a time during the summer. The shingly Harami beach turns to sand as you enter the clear, safe water of the bay. Lakka has a good number of family run tavernas with a high standard of cuisine - the freshly caught fish is particularly good. The island has many small beaches accessible by sea or on foot - our favourite is Orkos. We often walk through the olive groves to the seaside village of Loggos, have lunch and catch the bus back to Lakka as it traverses a succession of hairpin bends averaging about 20 miles per hour. I could go on but you should switch to www.planos.co.uk to find out more. You won't just go there once - you will go back year after year after year. And did you know? 150 years ago it switched from being British to Greek.

We first encountered Planos Holidays sixteen years ago and we have used them most years since then - with never a complaint. Efficient and friendly, they pull out the stops when necessary - one year our flight to Corfu was so delayed that we missed the last ferry to Paxos so Planos bussed us down to the south of the island to another port, where they chartered a boat to ensure that we reached our destination as soon as possible. The continuity of staff from year to year means that we are always greeted as friends and never given the impression that we are just this week's arrivals. Specializing in one small Greek island, they know it inside out, love it dearly and want you to do so as well.

Wonderful Paxos and Planos

We had a wonderful holiday on Paxos in June 2014. Planos were a delight to deal with and the transfers from arrival in Corfu to return to the airport two weeks later were handled impeccably by Planos.

This was again, an excellent hoiday to Lakka, Paxos. This is a beautiful small island about a 2 hour ferry ride from Corfu. It is laid back and still very Greek where you will still be invited into the Taverna kitchen to view the dishes. Two favourite tavernas are "Stasinos Garden Restaurant" where you can sit in their beautiful garden to eat and "Alexandros" situated in a quiet courtyard under grape vines. Since our first visit in the early 1980's, the island has changed little and the charm remains. The way to visit the other 2 villages, Loggos and Gaos, (the capital), is by hiring a small motor boat which can also be used to visit small beaches not accessible by road. This is a holiday where people return year after year.

Once again Planos Holidays provided us with a Fantastic 2 weeks in Lakka, Paxos. My first holiday with them was in the early 1980's to Paxos and we have gone there many times over the years. Due to circumstances there has been a gap of nearly 8 years but the "Very High Standard" provided by Planos Holidays in the UK and on Paxos exists to this day, and to be recognised from previous holidays . The Brochures depicts the accommodation EXACTLY - to the point of telling you how many steps you will have to climb to reach it. Communication and assistance from Booking through to returning home is Second to None. You will be met by easily identifiable Rep's at each stage of the journey and you will not lug your own baggage from leaving Corfu airport to arrival at Corfu airport on returning home. This is a small travel firm where they all know each other like a family, and over the years I have not come across any other travel company that can come close to them on any count. Needless to say, I have provisionally booked for next year in their Lakka office. "WHY JUST BOOK IT WITH THOMAS COOK" when you can get this sort of service from Planos and know you will be LOOKED AFTER and that your accommodation will be as described in the brochure and not turn out to be a Building Site and be welcomed by Pano and Mary on arrival!

Heaven with caring support

We have been travelling with Planos for many years now to the island of Paxos in Greece. The island is small and very beautiful and friendly. There are lovely restaurants ,shops and places to hire boats and leisure items like canoes etc. We always have a self-catering apartment and are used to some of the eccentricities of Greek electricity and plumbing. The pace is slow and very relaxing, ideal to de-stress in! It is heaven on earth.

The staff are always cheerful, helpful and efficient. It is a long journey - car journey to airport, flight to Corfu, coach to ferry port, ferry ride to the island and then the coach. Information is always available when necessary. There was a short holdup this year with the coach to the airport after the ferry from Paxos, but the rep sorted it quickly and efficiently and there was a shad area for us to wait at the port. It seems that annually there have been efforts to make the transfers as efficient and quick as possible. It is a welcome improvement that the ferry staff load cases on and off, they were so polite and helpful. As we age that is very useful!! Our accommodation was a new one to us and was excellent! Booking and receiving the holiday information is always done really well and we are kept informed regularly leading up to departure time. We really feel that the company want to do all they can for you from the start of the booking process. Nothing is too much trouble. 1
