Day 1: Arrival Hanoi

On arrival at Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport, your personal guide and driver will be waiting to meet you. Transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure or indulge in a luxurious spa treatment. Evening Vietnamese dinner at the charming .Le Tonkin Vietnamese Restaurant set inside a French villa.

Distance and journey time: 38 km, 1 hr.

Day 2: Hanoi sightseeing tour

Start the day with a walk down Lane 147 Nghi Tam Street in the Tay Ho district of Hanoi. Journey down Nghi Tam Street and Yen Phu road sampling Pho, Banh Cuon, and coffee with yogurt. Visit a market on Nghi Tam Street and your guide will explain the many different kinds of markets found in Vietnam.

After lunch, visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Take a walk from the mausoleum through the park to see the former French Governor’s Palace and Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House in which he lived from 1958 till his final days in 1969. Visit Vietnam's first university, The Temple of Literature and One Pillar Pagoda.

Enjoy a Water Puppet performance, a unique North Vietnamese form of art and entertainment.

Dinner suggestion: Fine dining at Home Restaurant, set within a former French Residence.

Day 3: Overnight Halong Bay cruise

After breakfast, drive through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta to Halong Bay. Arrive in Halong City around noon and check in for your overnight cruise. Board a traditional junk for a magical cruise around the Bay. The mystical landscape of this UNESCO World Heritage site is where over 3,000 limestone rock islands with sheer vertical sides and topped with thick jungle vegetation, rise out of the emerald sea.

Day 4: Fly to Danang and transfer to Hoi An

Upon disembarkation, your guide and driver will be waiting to transfer you to Hanoi Airport for the flight to Danang.

On arrival in Danang, transfer by car to Hoi An. Overnight at Anantara Resort, Hoi An.

Danang Airport to Hoi An: 40 km, 1 hr

Day 5: Hoi An sightseeing

The exquisitely preserved merchant town of Hoi An is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's colourful shop houses and temples reflect a diverse heritage, dating back to the 16th and 17th century when it was a major port for Western, Chinese and Japanese traders. Today it is a thriving centre of traditional crafts and a shopper’s paradise, best explored on foot.

Wander through the cobbled streets, past low tile-roofed buildings, the bustling central market and the small harbour where colourfully painted boats are moored. The walking tour will include visits to a private house, where members of the same family have lived continuously for centuries in a traditional setting; to one of the family chapels built by prominent merchants or official families as centres for ancestor worship.

Visit the famous Japanese covered bridge, first constructed in 1593 by the Japanese community of Hoi An to link the town with the Chinese quarters across the stream. In the afternoon, board a local boat and cruise down the Thu Bon River before returning to Hoi An harbour.

Day 6: Hoi An: An authentic cooking experience with a local family.

Enjoy an authentic cooking experience with a local family on a unique river island setting. Take a boat ride to a village located on a small island in the river delta of Hoi An. On arrival, you will be warmly welcomed into the family’s own home. Enjoy a refreshing fruit drink while you meet Grandma and the other members of the family.

In the open air kitchen learn, step-by-step, how to prepare some tasty traditional Vietnamese dishes that are typical to the region. You will get to try your hand at using traditional utensils such as a stone grinder to transform rice into rice flour. You will also be shown how rice paper is prepared and then used to make Vietnamese spring rolls, also known as ‘nems’. Throughout the day you will be regaled with interesting stories about village life, and be given insights into Vietnamese culture.

Day 7: Fly to Nha Trang

Depart Hoi An for the early morning flight to Vietnam's beach capital Nha Trang. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will be waiting to transfer you to the hotel.

Enjoy Danang's golden stretches of beach, crystal clear waters, marine life, snorkeling and scuba diving.

You will stay at the exclusive and outstanding Six Senses Evason Hideaway (accessible only by sea) and settle into a private pool villa.(villa includes a private butler).

Hoi An to Danang airport: 40km, 1 hr.

Cam Ranh airport – Six Senses Ninh Van Bay: 2 hours by vehicle and boat

Day 8 and 9: Nha Trang

Enjoy the following two days at leisure. The Evason Hideaway occupies a unique site near to Nha Trang on Ninh Van Bay, accessible only by boat. The architectural style reflects the traditions of Vietnam and the 53 pool villas provide generous personal space and an uncompromised standard of luxury.

The resort's restaurant features the best of East meets West fusion cuisine. The Six Senses Spa, nestled among rocks beside a gently cascading stream, has an international team of therapists on hand providing signature treatments together with individual rejuvenation specialties of the region.

Day 10: Fly to Ho Chi Minh City. Explore

After breakfast, transfer to the Airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel.

In the afternoon, explore Ho Chi Minh City. Begin with a tour of the historic centre, strolling along Dong Khoi Street, formerly known as the Rue Catinat, the main shopping thoroughfare, and heart of old colonial Saigon. Pass by classic European-style landmarks such as the ornate City Hall (Hotel De Ville), the old Opera House and pay a quick visit to the neo-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. Afterwards, dive into modern history with a tour of the Reunification Palace. Formerly the Independence Palace of the South Vietnamese president, this 60s style building was famously stormed by tanks signifying the fall of South Vietnam. It has been preserved in its original state, and the original tanks remain on display near the entrance gates.

Continue to the harrowing War Remnants Museum, which comprehensively documents the travails of the long Vietnam - American War. Inside are detailed photographic exhibitions; outside is a collection of tanks, planes, and weapons. A powerful experience, this museum is guaranteed to provoke strong emotions. Finally visit the Emperor of Jade Pagoda, one of Saigon's most interesting pagodas.

Six Senses Ninh Van Bay - Cam Ranh airport: 2 hours by vehicle and boat

HCMC’s airport - HCMC (12km): 30 minutes

Day 11: To the Mekong Delta

After breakfast, drive to the Mekong Delta region. Upon arrival in the Delta, board the private ‘Song Xanh’, modeled after a traditional sampan. This is a unique, authentic and charming Sampan designed for a private cruise experience in the Mekong Delta. The sampan is equipped with beautiful bamboo and rattan furniture, creating a very charming atmosphere. A very attentive service is provided by a team of 4 crew members. The boat’s small size allows ease of navigation through smaller canals and tributaries of this region.

The visit includes a stop at the home of Mr. Huyen Thuy Le, a character from the novel ‘The Lover’ by Marguerite Duras, as well as the Thien Hau Pagoda. Return to the boat for lunch. Continue to Can Tho, stopping en-route at a Cao Dai Temple. Cao Daism is indigenous to South Vietnam and its colourful and unusual murals (combining all major faiths of the world) are simply mesmerising.

Before sunset, the last stop is at a splendid 19th-century house where an unforgettable candlelit dinner will be served. After dinner, proceed for one hour to Can Tho where the sampan will be moored for the night.

Day 12: Fly to Phu Quoc

After breakfast, cross the Mekong en route to the Cai Rang Floating Market. During the cruise, soak in traditional sights such as rice barges, wooden shipbuilding yards and fruit drying along the Mekong's banks. After visiting the colourful floating market, transfer to Can Tho Airport for the flight to the island of Phu Quoc. Upon arrival, a shuttle bus will be waiting to transfer you to La Veranda Resort.

The resort features sumptuous villas, an indulgent spa, and a pristine sandy beach.

Day 13 to 15: Enjoy Phu Quoc

Phu Quoc is one of Asia's least developed beach destinations. The island's clear waters, undiscovered beaches, forested interior and charming local character make for an ideal holiday escape. Spend the next three nights in Phu Quoc enjoying the beautiful, laid-backed surroundings. There are diving and snorkeling trips to the outlying reefs, visits to the island's infamous fish sauce factories and trekking trips to the island’s interior rainforests.

Day 16: Departure

Transfer to the Airport for the short flight to Ho Chi Minh city for your onward connection home.
