Dales High Way

Dales High Way Overview

Seasoned walkers will enjoy this long distance walking challenge. Starting in the UNESCO Wolrd Heritage site of Saltaire and finishing in Appleby in Cumbria this is a moderate to challenging walk over a combination of open moorland, limestone pavement, prominent hills and valley floors.

This is a hillwalkers paradise. Stretching 94 miles from West Yorkshire to Cumbria this footpath follows the spectacular high ground over the West Yorkshire Moors, the Dales limestone pavement and the Howgill Fells. You can also make an optional ascent of Whernside, Yorkshire’s highest mountain. Mickledore can book you accomodation, luggage transfers and daily packed lunches. We will provide you with a map, guidebook and personalised itinerary. You will also get a comprehensive service list including cashpoints, post offices, banks, village shops, inns, cafes, and taxis.
