Wilderness Walking Northumberland & the Lake District in the rain, but NOTHING was going to dampen our spirits.

7 days of hiking northern England, with 4 other guests and Wilderness Scotland's guide, Kirsty Chuchla. You can plan everything - and this trip was exquisitely planned - but you can't plan the weather! Despite unrelenting rain and wind, we tackled all of the hills, we walked a portion of Hadrian's wall, we marvelled at the beauty of Bamburgh's shore and its castle, and were humbled by the majesty of the moors.

Hiking the High Points of Harris & Lewis in the Outer Hebrides

A mixture of hills and coastal hikes combined with visits to sites of cultural interest and the odd boat trip.

WS seem to have a magic formula which gets all aspects of the trip perfectly matched. The itinerary, the accommodation & food and the guiding. It also attracts some really nice people so there is always an excellent group dynamic.

An epic trip of a lifetime!

We scheduled a made to order trip through Wilderness Scotland. We knew where we wanted to go and put together our wishlist which they executed perfectly to make our dreams come true. They took the stress and strain of traveling to a foreign country and delivered the perfect vacation. We will definitely plan to return in the future and recommend Wilderness Scotland to our friends and family. Bravo !!!

Landscape photography with Colin Prior

Colin Prior's hands-on teachings have changed my perspective on landscape photography and have made me discover more about how I relate to nature - the key to powerful photography. His knowledge of nature and precise eyes have been quite a source of inspiration.

Wilderness Scotland has staff eager to efficiently help and is well run. Few improvements have been noted and submitted to the crew. Despite these, I highly recommend them and I am currently looking which will be my next adventure with Wilderness Scotland.

Self Guided: West Highland Way by ArizonaAnne, 29 May 2019

Excellent self-guided walking holiday with Wilderness Scotland

Wilderness Scotland provided excellent maps and guides for hiking the West Highland Way, plus pre-trip planning and preparation materials. They were prompt in answering questions via email prior to our trip. We had great accommodations arranged by Wilderness Scotland, and our luggage was transferred smoothly to each day's lodging.

Walking - The Wilds of Assynt by CKDan, 29 May 2019

Absolutely fabulous!

My trip was The Wilds of Assynt in May. This was one of the most well organized and enjoyable walking/hiking trips I’ve been on. We had a small group of 4 plus a fabulous guide. He was a perfect mix of fun and professionalism and he 'wrangled" us with ease and good humor. Some of the walks were more challenging than others, but the order in which we tackled each hike was perfect. Suilven was a highlight, and fortunately we had a perfect day...

I’m 61 and in good shape, and I found I could do all the hikes at a steady pace. Our guest house in Ullapool was wonderful, very filling, good quality sack lunches and dinners in local restaurants were quite tasty. We had dinner on a sailing yacht that was amazing. I highly recommend Wilderness Scotland and will travel with them again. I’m already thinking about when and where.

Exceptionally professional and responded very quickly to my questions. Details were very organized while we were on the tour.

We have been very pleased with this trip in the Outer Hebrides

Organized by Wilderness Scotland, this trip allowed us to enjoy superb hiking to the peaks of Lewis and Harris. We were accompanied by Keith, an expert guide with historic and scientific knowledge, a nice person very open and ready to help. In addition, we were lucky enough to have fine weather, including Sunshine ! Accomodation was great in the Soval Lodge.
