This is an action-packed trip for the energetic, adventurous and culturally-curious who are looking to get a new perspective on Vietnam. In addition to taking in Vietnam’s most popular destinations, you’ll venture into the northern reaches of country for a glimpse of Vietnam’s rural side.
The trip begins in Hanoi, where you’ll have a chance to take part in a street food tour and explore the Old Quarter before travelling on by sleeper train to the far-north west to the mountains of Lao Cai Province. The next few days will be spent getting off the beaten track, hiking through the misty mountains and getting a taste for rural life. From here, you’ll journey on to the Phong Nha National Park – the perfect place for adrenaline junkies, with plenty of opportunities for swimming, caving and kayaking.
Once you’ve had a chance to satisfy your adventurous side, travel South to Hue, where you’ll spend a couple of nights discovering a little of Vietnam’s fascinating Imperial past before travelling along the coast to beautiful Hoi An, arguably Vietnam’s most picturesque town. Your trip concludes in Vietnam’s most cosmopolitan and lively city, Ho Chi Minh City.
