Kilimanjaro Climb Machame Route

Kilimanjaro Climb Machame Route Overview

The Machame Route is our personal favourite, combining dramatic scenery and an excellent chance of making a successful ascent to the summit of Kilimanjaro. It also offers great value for money.

You'll spend your first night in Arusha to refresh yourself after your flight, and the next morning your adventure begins in earnest as you start the climb.

It is a daunting prospect and there’s no denying that this is a physical trail, but with help and support of your vastly experienced guides you’ll be in safe hands and will have every chance of making it to the top.

This is a scenic route and you will have time to pause and look around you and take photos as you pass through different vegetation zones. Indeed, you will be encouraged to walk at a steady pace as this is the best way to minimise the effect of the altitude.

You’ll be well looked after by a team of guides, porters and a chef. Tents are erected for you – there are no huts on this route – and wonderfully tasty and nourishing meals seemingly conjured out of nowhere to provide you with plenty of energy for the climb.

Finally, what can match the sense of achievement as you stand at Uhuru Point, watching the sun rise, in the knowledge that you have just climbed the highest mountain in Africa? We can’t guarantee that you’ll make it, but with this itinerary you will have the very best chance.
