Palaces and Castles of Lisbon and Sintra with Inntravel

We have just returned from 5 nights visiting Portugal, arranged by Inntravel, we stayed the first 2 nights in Lisbon at the Hotel Solar Do Castelo, a quiet idyll situated within the castle walls and easily accessible to the city via the exciting Lisbon tram system or even more thrilling elevators, shooting you down several street levels in a trice! The second half of the holiday was spent in Sintra, we stayed at the Sintra Boutique Hotel which had a splendid view of the National Palace and surrounding hillsides and was central to the "old town" and its many charming cobbled alleyways, shops and cafes. Inntravel supplied us with comprehensive notes on the many palaces and castles nearby to visit and we also took a bus one blustery day out to Cabo Do Roca, the westernmost point of Europe.

Rating for tour operator:

Our operator was Inntravel, they were efficient and helpful, booked our hotels and supplied us with comprehensive notes on travel and points of interest, maps and walking routes. We have used Inntravel before and always found them to be most accommodating.

Lisbon and the Palaces on Sintra

We spent a very enjoyable 4 days in Lisbon and 3 days in Sintra. Inntravel were very helpful and arranged to extend their city break. The Hotel Solar da Castelo in Lisbon and Lawrence's Hotel in Sintra were excellent. Also, Inntravel's information enabled us to enjoy the beauty and fascination of both Lisbon and Sintra. We had never visited Portugal and this introduction has been wonderful. The Portuguese people are so friendly and helpful...

The Portuguese people are so friendly and helpful. Lisbon, with the houses climbing the hills, the orange tiled roofs and decorative tiles on the walls, the castle, churches and museums, the sun, blue sea and sky - magic. And Sintra in such beautiful wooded and hilly countryside with beautiful palaces and gardens.

Rating for tour operator:

Inntravel were helpful at all times. Discussing the holiday, arranging to extend the city break, answering queries, and at all stages of the booking process. The information pack they sent is excellent. Comprehensive notes on the history and culture of Portugal, together with practical information on getting around in Lisbon and Sintra, recommended restaurants etc. The information included detailed routes for walks in Lisbon, Belem and Sintra, with full information on the castles, museum, churces and sites visited. We found this information greatly helped us to enjoy our holiday.
