Morocco Coastal Trek & Essaouira

Morocco’s rugged Atlantic coastline is often neglected as a destination, but the beautiful long beaches, and rocky shoreline where Berber villages perch between desert and sea, offers delightful, easy winter trekking.

Sometimes walking on hard sand on empty beaches, and sometimes along the tops of rocky headlands. There are straightforward cliff paths, walks through groves of Argan trees, sand dunes, and descends to magical bays where you will find ammonites and have a go at camel riding. On two nights you camp next to shrines built in honour of local holy men, and on at least one day you will share mint tea in a local farmhouse.

Finally you return to Essaouira to stay in a very atmospheric riad and wander the souks, bazaars, and narrow streets soaking up the sights and sounds of 'old Morocco'. The food is amazing, the scenery like something out of Lawrence of Arabia, and the riads we use ooze character and charm.
