Discovering Ancient Armenia

2 Apr 2019 - Small group tour operator, Undiscovered Destinations has just launched a new 10 day escorted tour in the former Soviet Republic of Armenia.

Their new 10 day ‘Ancient Armenia’ tour is an in depth exploration of the history and culture of Armenia. Highlights include the incredible Armenian architecture from ancient and medieval times, the famous view of Mt Ararat from Khor Virap Monastery, the spiritual heart of the Armenian Church at Echmiadzin and the chance to try your hand at making traditional Armenian flatbread at a Lavash masterclass.

Having been operating a combined tour of Georgia and Armenia for a number of years, the company felt that it was time that they launched a tour specifically focused on Armenia. Undiscovered Destinations’ product manager for the region, Mark Huggins explained more ‘Having travelled extensively in Armenia I knew that as a destination it had everything our clients like. As a destination it has it all, with a combination of wonderful scenery, a unique culture and history and a lack of main stream tourism. Feedback from previous groups who had visited the country in combination with Georgia was excellent and with increasing demand for tours in the Caucus region, we felt now was the perfect time to launch this tour.’

The tour costs from £995 per person, excluding international flights and based on two sharing. Departures are scheduled for October 2019 and April, May and October in 2020. Group size is limited to a maximum of twelve people.
