Turin & the House of Savoy Traveller Reviews
Reviews of Turin & the House of Savoy
Excellent! Combined intellectual stimulation with wit
The trip presented Turin in all of its glory. Not a proverbial stone was left unturned in ensuring that all the arrangements coalesced into an enjoyable experience.

Rating for tour operator:Excellent! Ciceroni, true to its reputation, not only delivers outstanding tours but, in the process, manages to weld the group into a family.
Exceeding expectations
Turin was somewhere I had always had on my list. I knew about the art, the Egyptian museum and the elegance of the city, but was stunned by the beauty of the hunting lodges/palaces/villas which we also visited.

Rating for tour operator:The arrangements for the holiday were excellent, hotel very good and the two guides accompanying us complemented each other superbly. I appreciated the fact that we were not overly organised and given time to ourselves as well. The audio system was excellent.
A cultural and gastronomic feast
It was my first experience of this tour operator. I found the holiday was extremely well organised and paced, so that we were not running to keep up with the schedule. There was time to mix with the other guests in an informal way. Instructions about where to meet and when were very clear, and as far as I can recall, nobody got left out of things because of an oversight. The information on the cultural side of our visit was very well prepared, cleverly constructed so that our knowledge of the history of the place was gradually built up. By using machines and headphones, we could listen to the explanations, and at the same time look around us and make our own observation.
Rating for tour operator:We had two operators: one who looked after the history and art of the tour, the second the gastronomic, although both could interchange. Their knowledge was exceptionally good. I am a historian, and I could not fault the level of their information, given in an accessible but not patronising way.
A four night art history trip to Turin
Turin was a revelation. An elegant and stylish city, the former seat of the Dukes of Savoy.. There is interesting art and Baroque architecture both in the city and in some wonderful hunting lodges out in the countryside. Also some excellent restaurants. Our leader was Tom Duncan whose knowledge and enthusiasm is boundless and everything was impeccably organised. The trip was full of interest but also very enjoyable

Rating for tour operator:Ciceroni is a small tour operator of art historical and cultural trips. They also organise lectures in London, usually focused on major exhibitions. We have travelled with them before and recommend them highly.
