We hiked in the Dolomites and it was challenging but rewarding. I traveled with my adult sons and it was a lovely holiday exploring Italy and hiking in the Dolomites. Everyone should experience this beauty!

On Foot Holidays was very organized and their detailed hiking itinerary was perfect. We were never lost or confused and appreciated knowing what to expect at all times. Our lodging was nice and each town had so much charm. We can’t wait to return for another hiking adventure!

We loved the incredible mountain scenery, the culture (mix of Germanic and Italian), and hearing the history and stories about the area (World War I). The trip offered a diversity of experiences.......interesting selection of places to visit and stay.

Without the planning support from On Foot Holidays, I don't think we would have had the opportunity to actually hike in this part of the world. Getting in and out of the Dolomite region can be challenging. I appreciate the attention to detail that made the process of making the trip possible. On Foot Holidays made selections (routes, lodging, suggestions) that were well matched to our needs.

This was a terrific walking trip planned by On Foot Holidays. The scenery, the interesting routes, hotels and meals were all excellent. Love how this walking trip starts near the Austrian border with lots of German influence and continues on south to Cortina which is full on Italian.

On Foot Holidays provided us with all the travel information to get to the start of the walk and transfer times to get to our next location at the end of the walk. A booklet with history and information about the towns that we walked through was so helpful and interesting. The route notes to follow on our walk were excellent as were the suggestions for restaurants when meals were not provided at the hotels.

Walking tour of the Dolomites that had everything you would ask for from a walk in the Italian alps - jagged peaks, 360 degree views, pine forests, cows and cow-bells(!), perfect weather, history and mountain hospitality

Provided very detailed information to get to the walk and to prepare for the walk itself - well in advance and leading up to. The track notes for the walk were very detailed such that we never got into trouble.

On foot selected wonderful hotels and wonderful routes for our dolomites trip. And they even provided perfect weather! Sunny and mild for most of the day then terrific, crashing thunderstorms in the afternoons which only magnified the magnificence of the mountains.

Our tour was a supported tour where On Foot schlepped our luggage and provided transport as needed. I think the changes in the terrain due to spring storms caused some confusion in the route notes but we always got where we were supposed to. ..and our luggage was always there to greet us. Supplemental transport was arranged without a flaw. They did a great job.

Our holiday was a breathtaking experience. We enjoyed being on our own each day. The flexibility of starting and ending each daily hike as a family was wonderful. It gave us the much needed time to be together. We live in three USA states between the four of us. We enjoyed the views, the places we stayed overnight, the incredible food and the different landscapes...the sharp and jagged mountains, the wild flowers, the wooded areas, the cow pastures, the river, the lake...it was all so beautiful.

Our hiking plans were laid out very nicely. The directions, maps and handbook provided were excellent resources. However, we thought we would have more contact with our tour operator. Our tour operator was available only by phone. We never got to meet. We accidentally met Danielle. He was very helpful as we were slightly off our hiking path.

We have been on several on foot holidays before, this was the BEST! Beautiful views, great path length and challenge, varied scenery and mix of loop and point to point walks. Food was usually very good and multiple options which was nice.

Excellent communication, easy to pay, stress free to deal with, can't wait to book again!

Of course the setting is spectacular, but the holiday nearly didn’t get off the ground due to easyJet. We found another flight and the On foot team we’re able to advise on the new connectivity, and set up a taxi to meet us for the last leg at their cost, they sorted a late dinner at our fantastic first hotel the Post Hotel which was a real surprise in terms of luxury, space and curtesy. The walks got better and better. The refugio was far nicer than I had imagined, with a lovely dinner.

They were great at the booking and steering us through the booking and travel. connectivity, which then fell apart due to our troubled budget airline and then, in real time on the weekend we managed to create a new travel itinerary to get to the start of the holiday without loss. They sorted out a taxi to get us to San Candido at their expense and sorted a taxi share with another couple and discounted us this when the local shuttle bus had stopped service for the season. They knew the routes and the hoteliers really well and their local guide gave us just the reassurance and updates we might need without being intrusive. We were provided with walking guides and loads of local info, history, geology and pastime alternatives

We had the most fantastic week in the Dolomites. THe trip offered a very diverse experience. We stayed in lovely small Inns and remote Refugios, all of which were delightful. THe hiking was spectacular, strenuous and rewarding. We have been on three On Foot holiday excursions in Europe and plan on many more.

Very organized, great communicator, readily available

We have recently returned from our walking holiday to the Dolomites with On Foot Holidays. Everything about the holiday was wonderful. We enjoyed staying at a range of types of accommodation from two 4 star hotels, a bed and breakfast hotel and a mountain refuge. It was lovely to be able to discover different parts of the Dolomites and to move on to the next accommodation without carrying a massive rucksack. The route notes give excellent directions with alternatives in case of bad weather or tired legs. It is very reassuring to have the back up of a person in the area who can be contacted in case of difficulties.

The staff at On Foot are knowledgeable about all the details of the holidays and so give very good advice. They are all very friendly and professional, have personal experience of the holidays and go the extra mile to ensure all aspects of the holiday run smoothly. The routes chosen and hotels were accurately described. Using On Foot allows us to have a walking holiday in beautiful parts of different European countries without doing vast amounts of research and planning ourselves. We can start enjoying the holiday from the moment we arrive and find our way with ease. This was our 5th holiday with On Foot and we are looking forward to the next.
