…the best bits of Italy rolled into one.

In pursuit of the Italian dream, we stumbled upon the surprising region of Piedmont, in northern Italy. Located at the foot of the mountain bordering France and Switzerland, it is lesser-known than its classic neighbours Tuscany and Umbria, but no less beautiful. In pursuit of the Italian dream, we stumbled upon the surprising region of Piedmont, in northern Italy. Located at the foot of the mountain bordering France and Switzerland, it is lesser-known than its classic neighbours Tuscany and Umbria, but no less beautiful. It was the medieval town of Alba which really caught our imagination. Surrounded by UNESCO rolling hills and boutique accommodation, it has remarkably managed to avoid the tourist-trap and this makes it all the more appealing (and good value). Piedmont is arguably one of the most diverse parts of the country…hike past lakes, mountains and forests, before retreating to your rustic (and impossibly charming) B&B, to enjoy a glass of award-winning Barolo wine, whilst basking under the warm glow of the sun, against the backdrop of the snow-capped Alps…

This is the place to go, for anyone who relishes the good things in life. Not only is food and wine a key attraction, but the region is very popular with walking, cycling and horse-riding enthusiasts.

With flights from London to Turin taking just under two-hours, this gastronomic delight is within easy reach. Perfect for a romantic weekend away; a half-term crowd pleaser; or simply a holiday with a balance (exploration meets relaxation).
