Bavaria's Soaring Peaks Walk by JBeth, 18 Aug 2018
Holiday Rating:

poor location, poor hotel and inaccurate walking notes

Bavaria's Soaring Peaks. August 2018 Inntravel claim to provide holidays on "the lesser-trodden path", provide "detailed notes" and assure that "each and every Inntravel walking holiday....has been meticulously researched." I don't think so. Bavaria's Soaring Peaks. August 2018 Inntravel claim to provide holidays on "the lesser-trodden path", provide "detailed notes" and assure that "each and every Inntravel walking holiday....has been meticulously researched." I don't think so. Far from being "beautiful and peaceful" the whole area is overcrowded with tourists in August to the extent that you cannot possibly even "walk at your own pace" on at least 2 of the 3 walking routes provided. The hotel is not as described and the suggestion that food is "a special feature" there is laughable if you happen to be vegetarian. The detailed notes are inaccurate in respect of one of the three walks (the route via cable car is not possible until summer 2019!) and one potential bus trip.

Rating for tour operator:

What more can I say. Obviously they have not bothered to research this holiday or to describe it accurately.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are truly sorry you were unhappy with this short break in Bavaria and, having investigated the reasons why your expectations weren't met this time, we have been in touch with you to express our concern that this level of dissatisfaction was experienced and to hopefully reassure you that we have not found this to be the norm for this walking destination. High season does see this increasingly popular area swell with visitors and, because the opening of the Jennerbahn to the top station has been further postponed, the more remote areas for walks are not currently as easily accessed. We have updated our information accordingly for the benefit of others and are sincerely sorry this impacted on your overall holiday experience.
