Cycling the coast and castles of North Zealand, in Denmark's early autumn.

We chose a 3-day cycle around North Zealand in Denmark called " Castles and Coast". Our bags were relayed to the next hotel for us as needed as part of the tour. We were late season and yet the hosts were wonderful, the bikes maintained, and still had plenty to see although some attractions had closed. The company gave excellent tour notes to follow, and Denmark has a wonderful system of bike paths between communities, over long distances. We ...

We enjoyed both the cycling experience (off-trail bikes) even though one of us had never been 'off road' before, and seeing the villages, castles, ruins, old houses and farms and communities we would never have visited if we were road touring. The locals - both the hosts and residents were wonderful. In September apples were everywhere to eat, and of course the Danish people put us to shame as everyone could help us in English. We also stayed two nights as an add-on in Copenhagen. The written guide the company provided was excellent - they gave a walking tour taking in the places you should not miss and giving a history of the city. Hint to others if you want to see the Little Mermaid - go at dawn, the sun rises behind her in September and there are no tour buses. Also visit Roskilde if you have time as the Viking boat museum was fascinating and the town was interesting too.

Responsive, accurate, gave detailed information, helpful and obviously wanted us to enjoy the experience. Would definitely book another tour with them.

Disappointing Hoteliers

While traveling, I was struck by how much people complain to each other but not directly to customer service. Perhaps this is an American quality as other guests with the same outfit had similar problems with food requests but didn't seem keen to complain. Perhaps it is my background in dealing with the public, that leads me to think that systems/ organizations cannot improve without constructive feedback. So, in truth, my complaint is with ...

So, in truth, my complaint is with the hotels (one of which switched out our room compared to what we had been led to believe by the travel company, and the other with a woefully inadequate response to our food restrictions). I don't have any sense that despite being compensated 30 Pounds for the three course meal that was only one because of conflicts in the kitchen between waitresses and the chef, that anything is actually tracked between the hotelier and the outfitter. So, I am curious to receive your link on the website and to learn how that information gets back to improve the experience of the next traveller.

The biking support on the trip was solid, but I was only encouraged to give feedback after the fact, not during. Perhaps things usually go seamlessly and I didn't complain until I Had a second problem at the second hotel. Anyway, we learned alot about the 'services' provided when we have a problem. Very interesting brokerage industry! Cheers, LAF

We welcome all feedback – it is invaluable in improving the holiday experience of all our customers. We advise customers to let us or the hotelier / restaurateur know if something is not to their satisfaction at the time, so that we have the opportunity to address any issues immediately. We maintain very close relationships with all our suppliers and visit them on a regular basis sharing all feedback (both positive and negative) and we also work closely with them to iron out any potential sources of dissatisfaction and to prevent a recurrence of any issues which may have occurred.
