Trip of a lifetime! 🐘🦛🐊🐆🦁🦒

I had never been to Africa before, so I had no idea what to expect. I was hoping for some animals....how many and which ones, I had no idea. This safari did not disappoint! From Day one, I was spellbound. We returned to camp every day, chorusing, "That was amazing!" Every single day, we saw something different, whether it was leopards mating (!), a lion kill, African wild dogs, right down to a tiny little frog. Our guide, Joster, had the knack ...

From Day one, I was spellbound. We returned to camp every day, chorusing, "That was amazing!" Every single day, we saw something different, whether it was leopards mating (!), a lion kill, African wild dogs, right down to a tiny little frog. Our guide, Joster, had the knack of pulling something out of his hat every day, and his sense of humour made every day a brilliant day. Our camp crew, Eddie, Bali and Zulu, were the best, keeping us well-fed and safe in our self-contained tents (ensuite - luxury!). Loved every single minute of it!

I had travelled with WildLife Trails once before to India, and loved that they were a small, family business with years of on-the-ground experience. Despite living in Australia and travelling with a UK company, there were no hassles or glitches. Allan rang and emailed me to keep me informed, and very kindly organised the trip dates around my timetable! I knew that he would arrange the best on-the-ground support, and he didn't disappoint with the choice of Unlimited Safari, and then OddBalls camp as an add-on trip. For small group, well planned specialist holidays, WildLife Trails are perfect....I am already thinking about my next trip with them 😊. Couldnt recommend highly enough

Wow, this is such amazing feedback Linda and thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to leave such a detailed report - it really helps us understand how our trips are doing. This particular tour is one of our favourites and from a wildlife viewing perspective, superb camp logisitcs and quality of guides, it is right up there with the best.

An amazing Botswana safari!

Everything was thought of in advance. Accommodation was as expected. We were looked after very well by our guides and other members of the 'crew'. Nothing was too much trouble. The wildlife was amazing, the guide very knowledgeable.

Our clients and us really love this trip as it truely explores the beauty and diversity of Botswana premier wildlife reserves and national parks. We are so happy that you felt the same and were lucky with your wildlife encounters. The local guides and camping crew do a fantastic job of looking after our guests in the mobile tented camp.

Wildlife trails were always there for us if we had any questions we had to ask. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for Allan and his staff

Wild Botswana Experience

This was a wonderful mobile camping trip visiting several areas of Botswana. It was my first time mobile camping and I absolutely loved it - even the 'long drop toilets'! To sit outside under the stars with no light pollution was incredible. We had some brilliant sightings, especially the elephants who we watched playing in the water for ages. Trips in between camps could be long but it was more like an extended game drive and didn't bother ...

To sit outside under the stars with no light pollution was incredible. We had some brilliant sightings, especially the elephants who we watched playing in the water for ages. Trips in between camps could be long but it was more like an extended game drive and didn't bother me in the least. The trip started off at Thamalakane River Lodge where we had a beautiful sunset over the river. It finished at Chobe River Lodge where we went on a boat trip - once again with wonderful sightings - and watched the sun go down. I could honestly have gone immediately back and done it all again!

Rating for tour operator:

Kirsty and Allan of Wildlife Trails arranged this brilliant photographic tour for us and I will hopefully return again in the not too distant future. I thought the quality of both lodges and the mobile camp was excellent. We would go for a game drive on the morning of our departure to another camp and by the time we got to our new site the old camp had been dismantled and was re-assembled, ready for us to use, as soon as we got there - with food and drink awaiting! The staff were absolutely amazing and our chef created excellent food with seemingly no effort. This was extremely well arranged by Wildlife Trails with nothing being too much trouble for Allan or Kirsty.

A great wildlife trip where I saw everything I hoped for.

On a safari trip I go with hopes and expectations, in this case they were exceeded which was a first. The vehicles used were modern and most importantly not crowded. The trip was a photographic safari and our hosts turned out to be expert wildlife photographers and I learnt a lot from them. The other part was fulfilled by our two local guides who had exemplary, knowledge and had the happy knack of putting us in the right place at the right time...

This was a wild camping trip and the facilities again exceeded my expectations. The itinerary worked very well and enabled us to make the most of our time in Botswana.

Wildlife trails created the environment that made the trip so good, I learned a lot about photography and the wildlife I went to see. For me the highest praise is that I was a returning customer and have already booked my next trip and that they are good value for money.

Wildlife Trails responded to this review on 14 Nov 2016:

As David rightly points out, the biggest compliment a travel company can receive is a happy returning client almost instantly booking his next tour with the same company and we are really delighted that David has placed his trust in Wildlife Trails in this way. Special praise must also go to wildlife photographers, Andy and Sarah Skinner, who create an environment on safari which motivates the group to maximise their experience.
