The highest mountain in Bhutan also happens to be the highest unclimbed peak in the world. Gangkar Punsum, 7,550m/24,770ft, sits astride Bhutan’s northern border with Tibet and due to its remoteness has received very few visitors. In 1986 our M.D. Steve Berry, was lucky enough to secure a permission to attempt the mountain by its south west ridge.
This new trek is an exploration of the southern side of the mountain, trekking to its base by the way of the Chamkhar Chhu valley. Be one of the very first to set foot in this magical region!
