Footsteps of Giovanni Bellini by RDH, 21 Nov 2016
Holiday Rating:

Meticulously planned visit to the best art Venice has to offer

Every aspect of the trip, from travel arrangements, meals, and talks was planned so carefully that I couldn't fault it. The prodigious knowledge of our guide was imparted with a real passion for the subjects, with gentle humour and without patronising his listeners. Our tour manager well anticipated our needs and together they made the holiday an enjoyable and enriching experience.

Footsteps of Giovanni Bellini by Maria, 12 Nov 2016
Holiday Rating:

Excellent organisation of stupendous study tour with just right balance between learning and having fun.

Went to Venice to see and learn more about Giovanni Bellini via well organised trips to churches, Museums and Galleries. Managed to include a concert of Monteverdi Vespers in the church where Monteverdi is buried. Every day was just special. The pace was good and very satisfying mix with leisure time/eating and drinking.

An Art History Tour in Aquileia

This was a guided tour of the Roman and early Christian artefacts found in Aquileia and the surrounding country from antiquity to the time of the Lombards. We were a small group of six and consequently benefited from the close attention of our guide, Dr Joachim Strupp. We were able to see the mosaics of 1st C Roman houses and, at a higher level, the sometimes superimposed mosaic floors of early Chrisian buildings. Visits to associated museums gave us the opportunity to see well preserved statuary, grave-items and some some surprisingly modern-looking Roman glassware. A private boat trip from Aquileia to Grado gave us an idea of the lagoon and the chance to visit the cathedral at Grado.

Rating for tour operator:

Copenhagen by EHD, 2 Sep 2016
Holiday Rating:

Excellent overview of Copenhagen and its arts and architecture.

Perhaps too much was included in the amount of time spent in Copenhagen. An extra day would have allowed some personal time for exploration.

Land of the Blue Rider by Culture Vulture, 2 Jul 2016

carefree travelling with a knowledgeable tour leader

An engaging mixture of medieval monasteries & churches, and 20th Century German Expressionism plus wonderful scenery. Probably sounds strange but it worked! A lovely chalet type hotel with terrific balcony views up to the Bavarian Alps.

Rating for tour operator:

Very caring and conscientious, thoroughly organised - there were no problems with the hotel, meals or the transport etc.. Everything went swimmingly. It helps when you have a tour leader and a tour manager and both were perfect. The tour leader was very knowledgeable and contagiously enthusiastic whilst the tour manager was well-organised, efficient and extremely kind.
