This role is a varied and challenging one which should enable you to develop and manage your own workload within a highly motivated and professional team. You will ideally be a confident, well travelled individual, who is experienced in sales and can confidently promote our company and products. Experience of the charity and corporate events market sectors would be advantageous. Specific roles and responsibilities are highlighted below.

Sales and New Business Development
This role requires an experienced sales person to help promote and sell our product to a wide audience. As the sales driver your primary role will be to create new business opportunities as well as generate growth in our existing clients. You will be working in a mature and competitive market and will be instrumental to increasing our market share within the challenge events market.

Increasing the client portfolio
As a creative and confident networker you should be happy to create opportunities and forge new relationships on our behalf. You will identify and bring in new customers to increase our existing loyal portfolio. Relationship management is a key element to the role and you will be expected to retain and develop long standing partnerships with any organisations that we work with.

Event promotion and Sales tenders
The promotion of our events is incredibly important and a vital part of the job role. Social media and a strong website presence are the main tools of how we achieve this therefore aptitude and experience in these areas are crucial. Attendance of relevant conferences and exhibitions may be appropriate as well as the potential for forging links with related organisations. Networking events highlight the importance of personal confidence and strong interpersonal communication skills. You should be prepared, and experienced, in presenting to organisations in groups as well as on a one to one basis.

You must be able to create and present professional, well considered, tenders. This will be via written and/or verbal formats in response to highly competitive charity or corporate client supplier bids.

Concept development
You will be expected to advise on event concepts, assess the needs of the client and offer a product which will best fit their requirements. This will include evaluating charity supporter demographics to determine which variety of event activity, destination and duration will suit them.
Establishing types of events suitable to our clients budget restraints and be the key negotiator to adapt charity ideas and visions to fit within a framework that is realistic, safe and logistically feasible for Discover Adventure to operate. You will need to consult closely with the product team to ensure the trips sold reach the expectation of our clients.

Competitor Analysis
In order to achieve the above successfully, you should research and monitor the dynamic charity challenge events market, in order to continually evolve and adapt ideas to keep ahead of the trends and be able to offer charities the current event ideas and appear at all times innovative and a market leader.

Developing and sustaining client relations
You should be prepared to meet with existing charity clients and new charity enquirers to offer information and advice on how they should move their challenge events programme forward with Discover Adventure. This may be on an individual basis at their offices, or at group presentations, predominantly but not always, in London.

You should be aware of the different working styles between charity fundraising managers, for example a large charity with multiple team members, to small organisations with little time to effectively manage challenge events. Your service must adapt accordingly. In addition you should be able to liaise with and adapt to the working style of, corporate fundraisers, for whom very different remits often apply.
