Smorgasbord of Steam Travel experiences
Very varied and interesting itinerary with flexibility to include independent excursions. Excellent help from a well informed tour guide who was clearly a steam train enthusiast. I would recommend the Dresden Steam Festival trip as a good introduction to steam travel in the former east germany.

Fabulous time at the Dresden Steam Festival
This gave the exciting opportunity to run side by side with a steam-hauled freight train, something that could never happen in the UK with its regulations, was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the visit. Each day was filled with activities to delight the steam enthusiast and the culmination of the trip on board the 1879 PS Stad Wehlen down the River Elbe was wonderful.

It was rather tiring and not relaxing
It involved a long journey acros Germany to a railway event which was in itself a pretty badly organised show. I would not do this again.

They tried thei best and charge a premium rate but really it was not worth the price.

I am truly sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your recent trip to the Dresden Steam Festival. I can confirm that this tour is an annual favourite with our customers, and we have never received adverse comments before.
I agree that the distance travelled to reach the event is long and that is why we break the journey with stopovers in each direction. Whilst we may visit the festival every year, I’m afraid that we do not have any control over the organisation of the event whatsoever.
Please be assured that I will monitor all feedback for this tour and will act accordingly.
